چکیده

Abstract. This presentation shows that superplasticity is achieved in hard-to-deform materials when they are processed by severe plastic deformation (SPD) through high-pressure sliding (HPS). The HPS process similar to the torsion (HPT) as straining made under high pressure highly constrained conditions. It applicable a sheet form of samples while HPT uses disks or rings, and thus it has advantage sample size can be increased. In addition, combined with feeding process, SPD-processed area further enlarged without increasing machine capacity, which called incremental (IF-HPS). applied Ni-based superalloy (Inconel 718), Ti-6Al-7Nb alloy (F1295) Mg-6Al-1Zn (AZ61), well attained all alloys total elongations more than 400%. also demonstrated cup forming Inconel 718 practical dimensions realized application IF-HPS process.

Achieving high strength and high ductility in magnesium alloy using hard-plate rolling (HPR) process

Magnesium alloys are highly desirable for a wide range of lightweight structural components. However, rolling Mg alloys can be difficult due to their poor plasticity, and the strong texture yielded from rolling often results in poor plate forming ability, which limits their further engineering applications. Here we report a new hard-plate rolling (HPR) route which achieves a large reduction dur...

Deformation Mechanism of Fine-Grained Superplasticity in Metallic Materials Expected from the Phenomenological Constitutive Equation

The superplastic behavior of fine-grained metals is well described by the deformation model in which grain boundary sliding (GBS) is accommodated by slip. This slip accommodation process involves the sequential steps of glide and climb, with climb assumed to be the ratecontrolling process. The climb distance during GBS is often considered to be on the order of grain size in the conventional the...

How granular materials deform in quasistatic conditions

Based on numerical simulations of quasistatic deformation of model granular materials, two rheological regimes are distinguished, according to whether macroscopic strains merely reflect microscopic material strains within the grains in their contact regions (type I strains), or result from instabilities and contact network rearrangements at the microscopic level (type II strains). We discuss th...

Title: Bulk Metallic Glasses Deform via Slip Avalanches

Inelastic deformation of metallic glasses occurs via slip events with avalanche dynamics similar to those of earthquakes. For the first time in these materials, measurements have been obtained with sufficiently high temporal resolution to extract both the exponents and the scaling functions that describe the nature, statistics and dynamics of the slips according to a simple mean-field model. Th...
